Solar Panels
Solar Panels are among the most common pigeon nesting spot. If you have solar panels on your roof chances are there are pigeons on your roof. If not now, then its only a matter of time.
Undershots
These are on almost every home. It is common to have multiple undershots on your roof. If you see pigeon waste on the ground, look above it, there may be an undershot above it with a pigeon inside.
Dead Valley Troughs
These spots are typically seen on the left hand side and right hand side of the front door. What makes these spots dead valley troughs versus Undershots, is when the tile valley hits the stucco wall creating an ideal spot for pigeons to nest. Untreated spots are cause for concern when it comes to water damage. When pigeon waste builds up, it doesn’t allow for proper water drainage off the roof and water will start to pool. This cause water to rise above the galvanized pan and start seeping into the stucco wall.
HVAC Unit
Like solar panels, HVAC Units are a shaded area for pigeons to nest. Even if you don’t see pigeons going in and out from underneath your unit, you may still have nesting under them.
